The Song Heaven Sings Over You
There’s a verse tucked deep in the Old Testament that has always stopped me in my tracks.
“The Lord your God is in your midst,
a Mighty One who saves;
He will rejoice over you with gladness;
He will quiet you by His love;
He will exult over you with loud singing.”
— Zephaniah 3:17
Most of us have heard that God loves us.
We may even believe it on our good days.
But have you ever truly considered that He delights in you?
Not tolerates you.
Not puts up with you.
Not watches you with a distant, arms-crossed kind of patience.
He delights. He rejoices.
He sings. Loudly.
If you could hear heaven today, you’d hear a Father singing your name with love. The song heaven sings over you.

A Love That Doesn’t Rise and Fall
Human love often feels conditional. It’s tender one moment, distant the next.
So we quietly assume God must love us the same way.
We think His love rises when we get it right
…and falls when we fall apart.
But that’s not the God of Zephaniah 3:17.
His love isn’t fragile.
God’s joy in you isn’t performance-based.
And His affection doesn’t evaporate on your worst day.
He loves because it is His nature, not your achievement.
He sings because it brings Him joy to call you His.
And nothing you do or don’t do changes the sound of that song.
Letting His Love Quiet the Noise
There’s a phrase in this verse that feels especially tender:
“He will quiet you by His love.”
We know what it’s like to be loud on the inside.
Anxious thoughts.
Old narratives.
Shame that still whispers.
Fears that rise like a wave.
But the Father’s love has a way of quieting the storm, not by forcing peace, but by reminding your heart that you are safe, seen, and held.
When you’re overwhelmed, He doesn’t shout over you.
He sings over you.
And in that song, the internal noise begins to settle.
You Are His Joy
One of the most healing truths for any woman, especially the women we will one day welcome into Amadea, is this:
You are God’s joy, not His disappointment.
So many carry the weight of feeling “too much,”
or “not enough,”
or somehow beyond the reach of delight.
But Scripture tells a different story.
A God who rejoices and a God who exults.
A God who sings and a God who enjoys His children.
Before you offer Him anything… before you clean yourself up… before you earn or prove or perform…
You are already loved…yYou are already delighted in... you are already worth singing over.
This is the kind of love that heals.
This is the kind of love that restores identity.
A Simple Prayer for Today
God,
Help me hear Your song over me today.
Quiet my doubts with Your love.
Open my heart to the truth that Your delight is not something I earn—it’s the gift You freely give.
Let Your joy awaken joy in me.
Amen.
