The Room Wasn’t Empty Anymore

Recently, we had the opportunity to attend a local ladies tea, at FBC Ruston, where we set up a table and shared Amadea Designs with the attendees.

I am always in awe when the final setup of our products is complete and displayed across the tables.

Most of the pieces carry memories of the women who have come through our program. I can see their faces as I look at them and remember the conversations we had while creating and the courage it took for them to begin again.

So when someone picks up a piece, they aren’t just holding something beautiful, they are holding a story. I wish I had time to tell all who stopped by the sale tables the stories that were dancing through my mind and allow them to hear the impact of what Amadea has been and what we are becoming.

That becoming is still unfolding, especially within the creative studio space being prepared for the women and girls.

The Room Wasn’t Empty Anymore

Speaking of what we are becoming, we are still working on getting our creative studio space ready for our women and girls. I want to share a glimpse of what’s been happening there.

Right now, it’s still an unfinished space. The walls aren’t complete and we still need an HVAC installed for heating and cooling the area. It doesn’t look like much at first glance. But something is already happening there.

Just recently, we hosted one of our Amadea Girls gatherings, and for the first time, the space was filled.

The weather had cooled just enough for us to open the garage door and let the evening breeze drift through. The girls had one request – a crawfish boil. So that’s exactly what we did!

We gathered around the tables, got our hands messy and shared time together as we laughed and learned more about each other.

That night, we talked about hearing God’s voice. About how He speaks in different ways, and why He wants to speak to us as His beloved daughters.

Each girl created her own flower arrangement, taking time to listen as she asked God what promise He wanted to speak over her.

We ended the night outside eating watermelon, which is always a favorite for all of us Southern girls.

At one point, I stepped back and just watched. Every week I show up to the creative studio to organize, create products, and pray over the space. Every week I am sitting at the table alone with empty chairs staring back at me.

But not that night. The tables were full. The chairs were no longer empty. And for the first time, I saw it. Not just what the studio is, but what it’s becoming.

I took a deep breath, smiled, and quietly thanked God for the peace and confirmation settling in my heart. It felt right. It felt like we were exactly where we were supposed to be.

And then I thought about what’s ahead.

Summer is quickly approaching, and here in Louisiana, the heat doesn’t wait.

Without air conditioning, we won’t be able to gather like this in the coming months. The space simply won’t be usable in the way these women and girls need it to be.

If you’ve ever wondered how you could be part of what God is building through Amadea, this is one of those moments.

Your support would help turn this space into something fully usable, a place where more evenings like this can happen, where more women and girls can walk in, sit down and grow into who they were created to be.

Thank you for being part of this story… in whatever way you feel led.

With love,
